There were 25 members: in attendance. President, Fred Har- ness welcomed every- one and a Minutes. Si- lence was held for Mr. Bill Darcy. Jack Handel read the reports in the absense of Beth McAdam and Pat Guina, who are away on vacation. Bern Jacomb read her card report and many thank you cards were re- ceived. Whist and shuffle- board were played with prizes going to Mrs. Huard and Irene Har- ness for whist and J. Handel and Ann Etches for shuffleboard. There were eight birthdays. Lunch was served. The next meeting will be the 19th of October. Get Well to the follow- ing: Mr. Smart, Mrs. Reynolds, Short Scott, Norma Fummerton, Mrs. Vienneau, Wes Miller, Grogan Sully, Mrs. Dunning, J: Gel- lert. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar LeBlanc have returned from visiting relatives in Mississauga. Mrs. Ernestine Hu- cul from Thunder Bay is visiting her mom, Mrs. Eleanor O'Connor. Donna Mikeluk has planned a program of stories, songs and finger plays for children 3 to 5. She's had a lot of experi- ence working with kids in the Mom and Me program and we are for- tunate to have her for the Story Hour. Parents may leave their child- ren at the Library (in the old Town Hall). You may pick them up at 2:45 when you will have an opportunity to sign out whatever books your children choose from our children's _ collection. Please bring your child- ren and let them get acquainted with their library. New Books The new books we've ordered are being pro- cessed and put on the shelves as quickly as possible. With me, Donna Lalonde, Danielle St. Amand, and Carol Rip- pengal making Pea Soup; Kim McColeman, Brigietta Samp and Paula Dodd making pea- nut bread sandwich- es; and Karen Simp- son, Jody Speer, Janet Caranci and Christine Rippengal making corn chowder. While we were wait- ing for the food to cook we discussed different people's weight and other interesting things. When the food was ready, we all sat down and ate.
