HOCKEY WEEK Schreiber Bantam Hockey Tournament DANNY WHEELER" DUGGAN AND KEVIN DUGUAY The Schreiber Ban- tam Kings would like to take this opportunity to thank the following indi- viduals for volunteering their time and energy in making our Annual Hockey Tournament such a success: Mr. and Mrs. Speziale Marlene Speziale Linda Speziale Leonard Huard Mr. and Mrs. Cos Filane Don Beno Pete 2-1 in a shoot out. In the second game against Marathon, Schreiber 'Jost 4-2, and it would 'have been more if it weren't for the out- standing performance of goalie Shane Duffy. Scoring for Schreiber were Coe Commisso and Frank Commisso. In the third game against Terrace Bay, Schreiber kept control throughout the whole game. Going into the third period with a 6-0 lead, finishing the game 8-2. Terrace Bay taking the lead with a quick goal smartened up the play- ers, and led them com- ing into the 3rd period 3-2. Schreiber again took control winning the game and trophy 5-3. Scoring for Schreiber were Coe Commisso with a well earned Hat Trick, Mike Beno with another hard earned single, and Robert Ella- cott with a well played single. Thank You!! Bantam Hockey Report During the weekend of January 15, _ The Schreiber "Kings" came out victorious, whipping Terrace Bay for the consolation finals. In Schreiber's first game against Cur- rent River, Schreiber lost 2-1 in a shoot out. After leading Current River 1-0 through the whole game, with a quick goal by Claudio Commisso, River came on a 4 on 0 against Schreiber goalie Tony Speziale, who made 2 spectacular saves but just could not keep up to the four attackers as they 'scored on the 3rd shot. Schrei- ber then ended up losing with a hat trick, Coe Commisso, coming close with a hard worked double, Claudio Com- misso with another hard worked double, and Gerry Filane with a nice- ly played single. The fourth and con- solation game against Terrace Bay left Schrei- ber full of confidence saves to take the team to victory. The most valuable players of the team were Frank Commisso and Coe Commisso, al- though "The whole team made an outstand- ing effort to help with the victory', claimed coaches Kevin Duguay and Joey Speziale.
