See you there. Hockey Tournament Results, January 14, 15 Congratulations go out to the Terrace Bay Pee Wees for winning the 16th Annual Mara- thon Invitational Tour- 'nament. It marked the first time that this tour- nament has been won by a Terrace Bay team. They also won the title in a convincing fashion by defeating Marathon 6-3, Wawa 6-3, and then the tournament favour- ites, Longlac, by a score of 4-1. Again, congratu- lations to the players, [ SUPPORT MINOR _ Terrace Bay Minor Report coaches, and team offi- cials in bringing home our first championship ofthe season, ' The Bantams are to be congratulated as well as they were the consola- tion runners-up in the Schreiber Invitational Bantam tournament. On the first day of the tour- nament they knocked off the previously undefeat- ed Marathon Bantams and then later defeated Current River. So again -- congratulations to the players, their coaches and team officials for this fine performance. _ North Shore Action The Terrace Bay Mid- gets completed the above weekend results with a fine performance as well. Down 6-2 early in the third period against yet undefeated Marathon, the Midgets roared back to reduce the score to 6-5 before losing by a 7-5 score. In their second game they were the perfect hosts to Manitouwadge in grant- ing them a lopsided win. On Sunday they dazzled 'Schreiber with their new - uniforms and shut them out by a score of 5-0. This past weekend the Atoms were in Schrei- ber for their first North Shore action in nearly two months. Results next week. This coming week- end the Pee Wees will be in Schreiber. __ Minor Hockey Week in Canada January the 21st marked the annual be- ginning of Minor Hock- ey Week in Canada. The Midgets started the week off with their sec- ond annual Invitational Tournament. Results will be in next week's -- NEWS. As host Community we need to provide billets for this important week- end. We are asking parents and interested citizens of Terrace Bay to assist us in this task. If at all possible, please fill in this form and | return to either convenor or drop it off at the Recreation Office. For your information, registration and billet pick-up will take place Friday, February 24th, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Recreation Centre. After a long delay due to ice problems and Christmas holidays, Terrace Bay's "Quin- ard Ltd." Oldtimers are on the road again. This time the team makes its' first western trip to Ig- nace to compete in a tournament there. The Ignace Club has won their division at the Lake Placid Oldtimers Tour- nament but little else is known at this time about the other teams we'll be facing. The Ignace Tour- nament will be Janu- ary 28th and 29th, and will act as a tune-up for our 2nd Annual Old- timers Tournament in Terrace Bay, scheduled to take place on Feb- ruary 4th and Sth. The team is also making plans to go to Interna- tional Falls on March 10th and 11th. Jim Files, President of the Club, has been busy making plans for our 2nd Annual Tour- nament. Along with some fine calibre hockey, the Club also plans to hold a dance on the Saturday night at the 'High School. The music will be provided by Nick bers of the Oldtimers Club. Teams competing in the Labatt's sponsored tournament are Gerald- ton, White River, _ Hornepayne, Manitou- wadge, 2 teams from Long Lac (including the Long Lac Reserve Team, which has play- ed in the All-Canadian Finals), and 2 teams from Terrace Bay. There will be a small ad- mission charge for the games or you will be able to purchase a ticket (weekend pass) that is De Shane and tickets are __ good for admission to all _ available from mem- games. | would be willing to take / Boy(s) to billet this weekend.
