On Wednesday, Feb- ruary 1st at 8:00 p.m., Reverend Ed Prinselar will be showing his pic- tures of Grenada at St. Andrew's United Church. Everyone is welcome. The regular monthly meeting of the U.C.W. is held the first Wed- nesday of the month. Community Bonfire On Sunday, January 15th the Schreiber Bi- centennial Celebrations Committee staged a Community Christmas Tree Bonfire. Approxi- mately 45 people at- tended this unique com- munity event. Children were provided candy - this event. and treats, and all at- tending were treated to coffee and hot choco- late. The Committee mem- bers would like to thank all those local residents who contributed towards See you again next year. Bicentennial Meeting The Schreiber Bi- centennial Celebra- tions Committee is stag- ing a general public meeting on Wednesday, January 25, 1984, 7:00 p.m. at the Recreation Complex Meeting Room 2. Guest speakers Mr. Norm Best, Ontario Bi- centennial Advisory . Commission Executive Director, and Mrs. Dorothy Gregory, Area Bicentennial Co-ordin- ator will present an overview of Bicenten- nial programs and acti- vities. This meeting is free of charge and open to interested members of the general public. Rossport Crime Prevention meeting | A meeting will be held in Rossport with the residents to discuss: Crime Prevention Mea- sures that can be under- taken to make their resi- dences and Community a safer place to live. Hospital Auxiliary plans Valentine's Tea The regular meeting of the Auxiliary to the McCausland. Hospital was held Monday, Janu- ary 16 in the new meet- ing room in the hospital, Terrace Bay. Bev La- foley was present to accept a tape recorder- player and blank tapes on behalf of the chronic patients. Our thanks to every- one who helped make the gift shop sale of Christmas crafts and the. BINGO a success. The hand-made doll raffled off before. Christmas was won by Amber Pelto and the Tonka truck by G. Boutette. A Valentine's Tea is being planned for the patients on February 14. A valentine box will be set up for the chronic care patients. The next regular meeting will be Febru- ary 20 at the Lake Super- ior High School, Schrei- ber Campus. Anyone planning to attend is asked to bring a small valentines gift, not to exceed $1.50 in cost. Instructor for Guitar Lessons We are currently look- ing for an instructor for beginner Guitar les- sons. All our instructors are paid $15.00 per hour of class instruction.
