~- Youth Water Polo The Terrace Bay Recreation Committee recently sponsored a programme of 'Water Polo' that has been very well attended. Pictured above are just some of the many youngsters who regularly participate in the sport. The Rec Committee wish to invite one Terrace Bay a and all to attend a 'Water Polo Jamboree' which is scheduled to take place towards the end of the season and involves competition with several of the North Shore communities. Members of the Youth With A Mis- sion: an_ interdenomi- national, internationai organization _of young and sometimes not so young people dedicated to spreading the Gos- pel of Jesus Christ world-wide. A team formed at Y.W.A.M.'s Canadian base in Cam- bridge, Ontario was working with Terrace Bay Gospel Assembly the last week in July. They distributed _liter- ature concerning the Assembly and did sur- vey work to assist the church in planning its irgunisaiion a been to as far away as Brazil, Spain, Gautemala and other Latin and Central American outreaches. They spoke of the wonderful change that had been made in their lives by personally re- ceiving Christ's forgive- ness for sins, and asking Him to be their Lord and Saviour. They gave out a pamphlet published by their organization en- titled "Reality", ex- plaining the Gospel in The people of Schrei- ber will be pleased to : know that they now have a full-time permanent doctor in town. Dr. Francis Lau started his practice about three weeks ago and is cur- rently working out of the Schreiber Medical Cli- nic. Dr. Lau is married to wife Judy but as of yet they have no children. Judy will assume the position of doctor's as- doctor. sistant. Both are from Toronto; Dr. Lau _ re- cently a graduate of St. Joseph's Hospital and Judy having 'worked with a Toronto insurance firm. They are both look- ing forward to meeting and working with the people of the Schreiber -' Terrace Bay area. "The people of Schreiber are very friendly,' claims Dr. Lau. Various members of the team had been on outreaches to Guate- mala, Spain, Brazil and other Latin and Central American countries. As in North America, they work with the - local churches in the area, presenting the Gospel through drama, singing, preaching through an intrepreter, as well as door to door visitation. They also assisted in Guatemala in very prac- tical ways, helping to rebuild and restore after tre devastating earth- quake which occurred there. An outreach to Belisle, formerly known as British Honduras is planned in the near future. - On Friday - evening, July 29, the team mem- bers gathered at the beach for a. bar-b-que and sing-a-long. They were joined by some of the young people from T.B.G.A., visitors from Terrace Bay who drop- ped in, plus the young groups from the Mara- thon and Nipigon Pen- tecostal churches. The week ended with a special Sunday morn- ing service at Terrace Bay Gospel Assembly where the team, joined by others who had been working in Nipigon and Thunder Bay, shared in song, drama and testi- mony. The morning message was preached by one of the team lead- ers from Cambridge, Hank Polki, who spoke on the Lordship of Christ in a believer's life. The enthusiasm, dedi- cation and commitment demonstrated by the team is to be commend- ed, but we realize this results only from their dynamic daily personal relationship with Christ which God offers free to any willing to receive. T.B.G.A. certainly ap- preciated the work which was done by the - team, and both we and the team thank-you the people of Terrace Bay - Schreiber for the warm reception you gave these dedicated young peo- ple.
