Until such time as a trustee can be appointed for Aroland, two represent- atives are to be invited to attend meetings of the Board. Trustees were provid- ed with a look at how another small Catholic board works together in developing curriculum, setting goals, and plan- ning for professional ac- tivity days. BENO Phone 824-2666 Schreiber ministrator reported that the Board has now received Ministry ap- proval for funding of $12,500.00 for renova- tions to the existing St. Brigid building. He re- quested a Board dec- ision on the portable building at St. Brigid. Motion was passed to dispose of the portable prior to the start of construction of the new addition and that tem- porary accommodation be found in the school for the students. Schools will be requir- ed to form a School Year Committee representa- ' tive of the secondary school community, in which the school lies, to assist it in making recommendations on all matters related to the School Year Calendar. This committee will in- clude local trustee rep- resentation. The Board will continue to have up to four P.A. days at the system level for system professional develop- ment and curriculum de- velopment, implementa- tion and review. Trustees R. Dumais (bilingual), B. Lalonde, and W. Scott were ap- pointed to the Special Education Advisory Committee for the year 1983. The Board will sup- port, by letter, the re- quest of The Lambton County Board of Edu- cation re the continua- tion of the C.B.C. tele- vision program "Reach For the Top."' The Board accepted the Report of the Com- mittee of the Whole and all recommendations contained therein, in- cluding: -- that the Chairman of the Board be empower- ed to appoint the Board representative to the Board of Reference re Ms. Therese Murphy, that a committee comprising Trustees Scott and Dupuis and the Director review all input regarding the twinned unit and bring a recommendation in this matter to the Board at the March meeting. The next regular meeting of the Board will be held on Saturday, March 19th, 1983, com- mencing at 10:00 a.m., in the Library of St. Martin School, Terrace Bay. She was instructed to obtain a home bingo license and a couple of draw licenses to take place on Derby weekend. Laura reported that Get Well cards were mailed to Felix Legault and Hilda Mushqush. Gail Bain gave a re- port on the custodian's work at the church and the snow clearance as well as bingo reports. Following adjourn- ment and_ closing prayers for the sick of the parish the hostess served coffee and cakes and an enjoyable hour was had.
