P AGE 16 TERRACE BAY NEWS OCTOBER 5, 1977 AUDZISS: : The funeral of the late Mrs. Valdis Audziss of Schreiber, whose death occurred on September 27, 1977 was conducted on September 30th, in St. Andrew's United Church in. Schreiber by the Rev. Brian Bigelow, with Mrs. Wendy Martin as organist. The pallbearers were Laiman, Ansis, Alfred and Jergen Audziss, all sons of the deceased, with Sandy Mayhew and Glen Allen. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Mrs. Audziss' immediate survivors are her husband, Valdis; one daughter, Irene - Mrs. Sandy Mayhew of Manitouwadge; four sons - Lai- men and Jergen of Schreiber, Ansis of Vancouver and Alfred of Red Rock. Mrs. Audziss was born Annaliese Kei 'hm, July 4, 1925 in Germany, coming to Canada in 1951. She lived in Manitowwadoe before coming to Schreiber. Among those attending the funeral from out of town were Ansis Audziss of Vancouver; Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Mayhew, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Reg Ruston, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Allen; Mrs. Pauline Dean, Mr. and Mrs. Rick Kothala, Rick Larmond, Dave O'Dell, Mrs. Gladys Dowid, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Soared, all of 'Manitouwadge; Mr. and Mrs. Al Outhouse and Miss Debbie Schan of Thunder Bay; Mrs. Elza Bergina of Elliot Lake; in addition to the many friends from Schreiber, Terrace Bay and Rossport. CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE: ' Lorette McParland, president, extended a warm welcome to the Schreiber Catholic Women's League, at their September meeting - following the summer recess. The meeting opened with a prayer followed by a reading "The Heart of Jesus in Community" by Sister Marvel. / Correspondence included many thank-you notes to the League and the treasurer's report showed the Fall Fair to 'be a most successful venture. Gloria Mullins, membership convener, report-{- ed 135 paid up members. 'Sister Marvel reminded members of the daily recitation of the Rosary during October. Winnie Campbell was presented with her past president pin for former years of service, and in return, passed around her scrapbook of C.W.L activities during past years - which was much enjoyed. Mrs. Pat Gillen gave a talk on a new program for youth; entitled, "Teenage Encounter. with Christ", asking members to consider having a team attend sessions at Avila Centre to bring back ideas for a local group. Members were reminded of the Regional meet- ing to be held in Terrace Bay.
