JUNE 8, 1977 TERRACE BAY ,NEWS PAGE 13 -- UNITED CHURCH WOMEN JUNE MEETING: The United Church Women at their June meet- ing, enjoyed a Chinese dinner prior to a brief business session. Marlene Doig presided, with fourteen pre- sent. The minutes of the last meeting and treasurer's report were adopted as read by Margaret Spillane and Gwen Hadley. It was noted the famous Fall Fair, sponsor-| ed by the church, is planned for September 8, 9 and 10th. The motto of this amusing occa- sion concerns household discards - "Bring + your own - and buy your neighbours!" Margaret Smith reported sending twenty- five cards and notes for various occasions and many thank you notes were received Mrs. Annie Niemi reported a quilt is almost completed. Following the meeting a penny auction was held, when by chance almost all coveted items were won by a few members. SCHREIBER SOCIAL: Mr. and Mrs. Mark Doig are here from . Trenton to spend the summer in their home at Walker's Lake. LINDA RAY SHOWER: Linda Ray, whose marriage to Ralph Regis takes place on June llth, was honoured at a community shower-tea on May 31st in the Angli- can Church Hall. Receiving with Linda were Holly MERay, Mrs. Edgar Ray, her mother, Mrs. Alphonse Ray, her fiancé's mother and Cindy Ray. Mrs. Paul Gauthier was the table hostess and the servitors were Cindy McKay, Kathy McKay, Cathy Maggio, Arlene Krause, Kelly + McParland, Mary-Jo Ryan, Michelle Stortini and Mary Pat Ramsay, Mesdames Paula Sitko, Isobel Perras and Margaret Santerre. The guest book was attended by Lisa Ray and the gifts opened by Wendy and Michelle Ray. Mr. and Mrs. Romeo Bouchard and daughters, Anita and Terry have left on a holiday to Sault Ste Marie, Sudbury and Niagara Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Ray and baby have re- turned from Red Lake to reside here. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bruley and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bruley and families spent the weekend at their summer home. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kenney this week are his niece and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Kerr and daughter Pam, of Toronto and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kurtz of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Ollie sundland of Thunder Bay was a business visitor here on the weekend at his giftshop, the Windjammer. Rev. Father Lynch of Beardmore said Mass at the Pays Plat Mission on Sunday. The members of the Indian Mission Band at the Pays Plat Reserve are making renovations and repairs on the church and building a recreation centre and snowshoe factory. To help finance these pro- jects they run weekly bios, an annual picnic and field day. Eugene Gerow was a business visitor to Thunder Bay this week.
