MARCH 23, 197% TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 5 | event was run. LETTER TO THE EDITOR ® or Dear Editor, . As a director of this year's Winter Carn- ival Planning Committee I would like to ex- press my opinion on how undemocratically the It seems to me that a select few took it upon themselves to make all of the major decisions. I am not in the least bit inpressed by the manner in which the parade was handled. In- itially it was postponed until March 20th due to inclement weather. Fine. No argument. A few days after the Carnival I heard that this particular event was cancelled for good. + Since I was in charge of the Ski Club float and was not notified I followed this up with a call to the parade chairman to get the "official" decision. I was informed that this fact was true and was decided by 'the Carnival Chairmen (the Carnival Chairman told me that it was the Parade Chairman's deci=- sion!) Now, I know for a fact that 30 man hours were spent preparing the Ski Club float and I was terribly angered to hear that it would 'have to be dismantled and we would have to ¢ share the prize money with the other entrants. I feel that this is an unfair reward for the effort that was expended since I believe the Ski Club float stood a good chance in com- petition. I am angered and very disappointed "dn the way things were run this year. Yours truly, (signed) Bill Megraw Jr. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT MR. AND MRS.
