BASKETBALL: The Marathon Junior and Senior Basketball teams travelled to Terrace Bay to play our Lake Superior boys. The games were exciting and our teams showed a great deal of improve- ment over the last outing. The Marathon teams won both games. On the 13th of January the four Lake Sup- erior teams will be travelling to Geraldton for the semi-finals of the NSSSAA Champion- ships. The teams have been working very hard and expect to qualify for the finals in each division. \ EXAMINATIONS: \ Exams are only two weeks away. Examina- tions in all subjects will be written on January 25th, 26th and 27th. not been written in most subjects for several years at Lake Superior High School. Our students are looking forward to them with mixed feelings. - « oil & kK - Final exams have { fo =n FENCING: 1) On Saturday, December llth, the Lake Super® : ior Fencing Club, coached by Mr. Huskins, tra- velled to Thunder Bay to compete in the Re- N gional Games. The team competed in three categories: 3 Men's Foil, Women's Foil and Men's Sabre. £1 The entrants were Mr. Huskins, Rik Spacek, Lloyd Quinlan, Jeff Reid, Bruce Hamilton and Carolyn Vanderkam. [3 4 f i Mr. Huskins'captured the gold medal in Men's Sabre. In Men's Foil, Rik Spacek took the Ey gold, and the bronze went to Lloyd Quinlan. 5 Carolyn Vanderkam won the silver medal in Women's Foil. First and second place finishers will now & move on to the Winter Games in North Bay on February 14, 15 & 16.
