Following the dinner open house was held in Mr. and Mrs. McLaughlin's home which was "thronged with friends calling with good wish- es and innumberable recollections of past. years. . z Mrs. McKay and Mrs. McLaughlin were M.C.'s at the dinner. The sewage installation on town streets was also completed at this time. Mr. McCuaig served on the Rink Committee and numerous other loc- al committees. Mr. Stokes remarked on the historic point in Mr. McCuaig's retirement from the railroad, being the last of the McCuiag's who had given almost 500 years to the C.P.R. on the Schreiber Division. _He also mentioned the part Mrs. McCuaig has played in community affairs as a highly ef- ficient secretary on many committees and for many organizations. Their mother, gave up the battle of using ordinary pie tins early because her family and all their small friends were inordinately fond | of pastry and, for many years used the former round- beer trays for her delectable pies: But, it was always a losing battle, until her fami- ly left home.
