THINK ABOUT IT Do you remember the way they went, The way they had their feelings bent, On saving their country's liberty, To keep their brothers strong and free? Can you still hear the echo of feet As they joined the men who marched down the street? To march to their deaths in a cheery way, Knowing that fate was not far away. Do you remember the few who came back, Beaten and wounded half dead in their tracks? - The way they told of comrades lost Shot or mangled, frozen in frost. Bury the dead along with the past, Some people would say as they gazed at the last Of the dead being buried among their pals To be forever at peace with all.
