Considerable time had been spent on drawing up this Budget. It is based on the Ministry's guidelines which will restrict subsidies com- ing from the Province to a 5.5% increase over the period April 1, 1975 to March 31, 1976. The Board reviewed in detail the estimat- ed Operating and Capital Expenditures of Pine -wood Court and Birchwood Terrace. The total estimated expenditures was $1,141,000.00. The good news for the Municipalities was that there is a surplus of $75,000.00 on the 1975 operations. This surplus is due to the increase in. revenue from residents and sub- sidy claims over what was estimated for 1975. Therefore this will reduce the levy to the sixteen Organized Municipalities for 1976 op- erations. The levy this year is $151,172.00 compared to $206,852.46 for 1975. The main concern of the Board is to try to . keep the per diem costs at a reasonable rate. | This is a hard task in small homes as Admin- istration Costs are high when compared to larger homes. The Board authorized the appointment of Ben Dicks as Maintenance Supervisor at Birchwood Terrace effective February 16, 1976. The annual general meeting of all Municip- alities participating in the operation of the Board is on March 29th, 1976 at 8:00 p.m. at Pinewood Court. The Municipalities will be notified by registered letter to send one de- legate, as this is the off year in elections, there will be no appointments to the Board. The present Board Members have one year to go. There will be a Chairman's Report of 1975 Op- eration, Financial Report and the report on EE the guidelines we will follow in regards to the expenditures in 1976. The Board Members were introduced to the auditors just as they were completing their audit on expenditures and records for 1975. The next Board meeting will be held at Pinewood Court on the afternoon of March 29, 1276. COUNCIL QUOTES: Continued Council will ask this committee to consider a more appropriate location as they do not wish to close off a road on a Saturday. 8 From a letter received the Municipal Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with no noon hour closing from June lst to Sept. 30th. Under new business, from five applications received for the position of Meter Reader, Mrs. Rhea Beaulieu will be offered this pos- ition.
