The Board will pay the expenses of The French Language Advisory Committee on behalf of Mr. Varieur and Mrs. Pelletier to attend the Ontario Francophone Cultural Conference at Elliott Lake, October 3Ist to November 2nd. The disbursements for the month of Septem- ber 1975 totalled $1,023,089.05. The Manitouwadge High School Industrial. Arts Program and proposed expansion of facil- ities was discussed by the Board and its ad- ministration with Ministry of Education, Reg- ional Director, R.R. Steele. Major discussion centred on the nature of the facility, diversity of programs, safety, future enrolments and costs. A building pro- posal will be submitted. immediately to the Ministry of Education, with a response promis- ed by March Ist, I976. The Board policy regarding Travel Expense Allowance was revised to read as follows: an allowance of 20¢ per mile will be granted; flat rate schedule up to a maximum of $I3.00 per day in Northern Ontario and $15.00 per day in Southern Ontario. A decision was reached on a transportation request from Mr. O. Fink, Neys, with advise- ment of results to be forwarded to Mr. Fink. Correspondence from W. Morrill, Schreiber, indicated an interest in purchasing I04 Bay- view Street. The matter was referred to the Teacherage Sales Committee. The Halton Board of Education requested support for an amendment to The Education Act. Trustee M. Dettbarn reminded the Board that review of the rental structure should be conducted. The Teacherage Sales Committee will have a recommendation for the December Board Meeting. : The Board examined the final product from the insignia and crest contest. These crests are to be issued to divisional winners in var- ious educational and extra curricular events. The Committee of the Whole Board reported: I) Manitouwadge Public School Apartment Build- ing #2 will be sold by public tender, subject to a reserve bid, effective July I, I976. 2) The Board and the elementary teachers have reached a settlement in 1975-76 negotiations. 3) This Board supports the Halton Board of Education proposal for amendment to Bill IOO re: province wide lock-out as a counter sanc- tion to strikes by teachers. 4) Mr. C. Wilde, Lake Superior High School, has been released from contract by mutual consent effective when a suitable replacement can be acquired. 5) The acceptance of the following resigna- tions with regret: i) Mrs. Carole Brown, Man- itouwadge Public School; ii) Mrs. J. Klug, Lake Superior High School cleaning staff; iii) Mr. E. Ojavee, Lake Superior Public School custodian. 6) The appointment of Mrs. Joy Bott, Marathon Public School, at salary according to sched- ule. : 7) Contingent upon an amendment to the Educa- tion Act, the confirmed sale to employee-ten- ants of the following residences: i) 247 Ken- ogami Road, Terrace Bay; ii) 53 Neebig Avenue Manitouwadge; iii) 29 Neebig Avenue, Manitou- wadge.
