A food booth was operated by the Ladies of the Terrace Bay Figure Skating Club. Treats of pop and chips were given to -all the chil- dren. The Kinsmen held an open air Beer Garden that was a huge success. Piped music was played all afternoon while the citizens laz- ed in the sunshine enjoying the friendly vis- iting that prevailed at the pic nic tables set up in the plaza park area. WOMEN OF THE MOOSE MEETING Enrollment of five new members took place at the June 20th meeting of the Women of the Moose Chapter I426. Welcomed into the defen- ding circle were Maryelle Tardiff, Linda Orles- ky, Dolores Tychoniak, Sybille Wenzloff and Denise Lacroix. Minutes of the last meeting were adopted as read by Recorder Helen Almos and the financial statement given. Correspondence was dealt with which consist- ed of thank you cards, a letter from Moose- heart, and a letter requesting catering service for a wedding. There will only be one meeting in July and August during the summer months. Members were in favour of sending Sadie Benko to receive her Star Recorder award at New York City, where the International Confer- ence of both the Women of the Moose and Loyal Order of the Moose was being held from June 29th to "July 3rd. New kitchen equipment such as toaster, 30 cup percolator, pots and roast pans will be purchased. Social evening followed the meeting with a cold plate being served by the executive. Gail was seated beside a wishing well filled with gifts under an archway of pink and white bells and streamers. Mrs. Nancy Doetzel of Thunder Bay the bride-elects sister and her mother assisted in opening the many lovely gifts. Mrs. Helen Brooks constructed a beautiful hat out of the bows and ribbons from the parcels. Gail thanked all those attending for the gifts. : Coffee, sandwiches and dainty squares were served and the guest book was circulated. Hostesses for the evening were Debbie Leclair, Vi Drexler, Bea St. Louis, Kathy Burns; Claudette Stevens, Michelle Rochon and Diane Coupal. Visiting with Mary and Peter Vanderkam for the week were Tina and Frank Devisser and their three sons Harold, Bruce and Rich- ard from Toronto. During the month of July the Reverend Pet= er McKague is on vacation and each Sunday the service is taken by one of the Board members. Mrs. Marg Lundberg, Mrs. Vera Kennedy and Mr. David Barnett have held a service this month. This week Mr. Keith Collan from Eastern Bible College, Peterborough who is working with the Department of Highways for the summer was the guest speaker at the service.
