PAGE 14 TERRACE "BAY NEWS MARCH 12, "1% CHRISTIAN LIVING WORKSHOP Father Brayley and his youth volunteer cor- ps, the Christophers, gave the grade students of Holy Angels School, Schreiber, a most inter -esting and new experience last week when they engaged in a Christian Living Workshop. The theme of the event was Sharing, and with some of the visitors, teams from the school, toured the town, asking residents if there were any chores they could do, or help with. One group visited Birchwood Home in Terrace Bay bringing much joy to the older people res- ident there. Parents of the students were invited to a pot luck supper on, Friday followed by a beau- tiful Mass at 9 p.m. Both students and parents were much impress -ed with the organization and its motivation. CARD PARTY TO FOLLOW REBEKAHS MEETING Ruby Lodge held their regular meeting on Wednesday, February 26th with Mrs. Gladys Hamilton N.G. and Mrs. Norma Fummerton V.G. presiding. Letters of thanks were received from Karen Madge, Lillian MacDonald, Betty St. Amand, and Mr. and Mrs. G. Martin. ; Mrs. Glorie Miller gave the report of the membership committee. Mrs. Hamilton reported on the successful Penny Auction held in support of the CPT fund. Mesdames Glorie Miller, Gladys Hamilton and Joyce Gilmore were named on the Bulletin Comm- ittee. A decision to rent the card tables at a charge of $5.00 for one or for all was made, plus the cost of damages to same. Mrs. Winnie Clemens won the attendance prize. Following the meeting, the members and guests enjoyed a social hour when jewellery, greeting cards and toiletries were displayed. Lunch was served by the Committee in charge. Mrs. Mavis Slater won the two draw prizes. A card party and social will follow the next meeting on March I2th. a hc sit Cll: NR, =r i) ET AMATEUR TALENT NIGHT -AT MOOSE HALL The first annual talent night presented by the Women of the Moose I426, was held recently and was a big success. Frank Sechesky was the M.C. and opened the evening welcoming everyone and introducing 3 very talented ladies. Yvette Swirhun with George Aulenback accom- panying her on.the Guitar enchanted evetyone with two songs in French and English. Yvette crooned her way through these songs with easy grace. Patricia Paukstys and Denise Vienneau two young teenagers were very shy for their first number, but with the applause after it, their confidence returned and Denise accompanied Patricia on the guitar for a second song. Two groups of musicians were exceptionally good, the first quartet was Marion Reid and David Barnett on accordians; George Aulenback, guitar and Diane Jones, clarinet, they perfor- med really well and had the audience toe-tapp- ing- a minute after they had started on their polkas. The second group were a Trio, Margaret | Harty, guitar, Mervin Vezina, accordian and Frank Roen on the drums.
