Mills of Schreiber requested Councils approval to property between the Schreiber dump and east to the Department of Highways to build a drive-in diner and poss- ibly a tourist trailer court. Council will advise Mr. Mills that under the new by-law highway commercial areas are available but not in this location. Mr. G. Dickson advised Council of his acceptance to fill the vacancy on the Recrea- tion Committee. A letter from Mr. Ferris, representing Aldon's Midtown Ltd. thanked Council for their consideration of a mobile home park and asked that they contact him if they reconsider their decision. Mr. Don Beno notified Council of his will- ingness to give them a quotation for insurance coverage on municipal assets at no obligation. Since the township insurance is presently paid for three years no quotations are required at this time. The Kakabeka Falls Legion 225 was granted permission to sell raffle tickets in Terrace Bay. Ontario Hydro has asked Council to limit their decorative lighting at Christmas time this year due to the energy shortage. A draft resolution between the township and NORMAC Industries was agreed upon. d Reeve Roy Bray and Councillor Hale will attend the Thunder Bay District Municipal League meeting on November I6th. The following accounts were passed for payment: Township $21,844.77; Recreation $8,026.85; Library $1,102.29 and Hydro $18,173.84. Under new business Councillor Helmink re- ported problems in the majority of the Rec- reation complex due to the change over in heating systems. Electric heaters will try to be obtained to solve the shortage of heat in these areas. She.also submitted prices for electric coffee urns at $55.20 each. These were accepted. Councillor Brassard brought to Councils attention that he had received many complaints as to the dog situation in town. Council iscussed this matter at great length with solutions suggested being: taking pictures, dog catcher, increase fees, and a dog census.
