Council Quotes - cont'd from pg. 1 The Thunder Bay District Health Unit wrote re- garding coverage (travel, insurance, etc.) for citizen appointees. At present Reeve Cavanaugh is covered under the Municipal Insurance but Council will look into the matter of coverage for a non-Council mem- ber. Ken Macleod, principal of the Terrace Bay Public School, has written Council informing them of his willingness to become a member of the Advisory Planning Committee presently being formed. Kimberly-Clark has notified council that options will be open until May 31st, 1973 to purchase the two houses presently being rented from them. A request was received from St. Martin's School to hold a bottle drive to finance their class trip in June. Permission was granted. The Township of Whitby proposed a resolution for Bill 90. They resolved that the Ministry of Treasury Economic and Inter-Governmental Affairs provide incentive grants to repair existing arenas or build new ones with the view of providing economic stimulation in the winter months similar to the Ont- ario Government Day Care Building programme where 100% of capital expenditures were met in certain conditions. It was Councils view that all arenas in the province would need re-building if this resolution was to pass and will reply to Whitby Council disagreeing to this. St. Martin's School has again decided to under- take the UNICEF canvass this year. A letter from Principal Mike Anderson was received stating this and clarifying with Council that Halloween will be held on Tuesday, October 31st. The Recreation Committee notified Council of their motion of September 28th to have Roy Corn- field placed on permanent employment at the Rec- reation Centre. Council agreed with this and the standard 5% increase in wage was granted. A Brunswick applicator used in maintaining the bowling allies at the Recreation Centre was added to the list of equipment presently being leased. The McCausland Hospital meeting Report from Mrs. Pat Buck, board representative, was read.
