RAAF AA PAGE 6 TERRACE BAY NEWS OCTOBER 12, 1972 TERRACE BAY RESIDENT APPOINTED AS ONTARIO MUNIC IPAL RECREATION ASSOCIA TI ON DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE As of September, 1972, Mrs. J. Chapman has officially been appointed to the Board of the Ontario Municipal Recreation Association. As District Representative, Mrs. Chapman's area extends from the east border of the City of Thunder Bay straight through to White River. The area is divided info a number of zones. Each zone usually holds a number of conferences throughout the year which result in resolutions being presented to the annual meeting of the Ontario Municipal Recreation Association. The Ontario Municipal Recreation Association is primarily devoted to the development of recreation in the Province of Ontario. It is an organization of lay people who volunteer their time and efforts towards furthering recreation in the province. The fall conference of Zone "A" of the O.M.RA. (Schreiber, Terrace Bay, Manitouwadge and Mara- thon) is being held in Manitouwadge this coming weekend on October 13th-14th. Any resolutions resulting from this meeting will be presented by Mrs. Chapman to the annual meeting which will be held in May, 1973. This marks the first time that a person acting as District Representative of the Ontario Municipal Recreation Association is a resident outside of the City of Thunder Bay. ONTARIO ESTABLISHES HOUSI NG TASK FORCE Premier William Davis announced the establish- ment of an advisory task force on housing to reasses the government's role in the provision of public and private housing. Mr. Davis said that since the creation of the Ontario Housing Corporation eight years ago, the Province of Ontario has consistently led the rest of MARRIAGE AND FAMILY COUNSELLING Mr. L.G . "One of the major roles of the task force will be to pull together the many housing studies done at the national level and relate them to Ontario's programs." Mr. Davis named Eli Comay, 52, a Toronto plan- ning consultant and professor in environmental studies at York University, as chairman of the Ontar- io Advisory Task Force on Housing Policy. His appointment is effective October 11th. Other task force members will be announced shortly. Mr. Davis said the task force will examine "the current housing stituation in Ontario and report on the appropriate role of the Ontario government, in company with other levels of government, the business sector and private citizens."
