Subsequent re- ceipts from these sources would then be paid directly to the Recreation Committee to finance the operat- ing expenses, The unrecovered balance of the pool and change house costs at December 3I, I97I was as follows: Balance December 3I, I970 Memberships I971I Balance December 3I, I97I 8. Of this emount approximately $2,035 will be charged back to schools in 1972, with the balance being borne by the Township genaral fund and the urban service area. Development Target - cont'd from page 7 ...... wonderland still has these priceless ingredients lav- ishly provided by nature. The island-dotted lake, forest-carpeted shores and enchanting panoramas on all sides, form the foundation on which a Rossport revival is building. Keynote to renewal is self-help through the agency of the Development Council of Rossport, chaired by Andre Nicol ably aided by such workers as E.R. "Bud" Crocker, development officer. Change is gaining momentum, instanced by a marina implementing cruiser and sailing craft rentals, gift shop featuring local and imported crafts while an- other gift shop is under construction. Re-opening is a combination sports and coffee shop and a liquor store. Coupled with the existing businesses, the village is now capable of offering a wider range of services and recreational outlets to please the visitor. Citizens and the community development council are looking at those problems inherent in any expan- sion. They report: "Some areas of concern are sign control, parking, day use meters, building mainten- ance, waterfront maintenance and general appearance, plus the important roles of advertising and public relations and eventual special events promotion." Rossport will be more than ready when the poten- tial of the north shore of Lake Superior as a superb deep water cruising and sailing region is fully developed and the famous lake trout gradually are returning.
