Hours for the library were set for vionday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, from 2-5 p.m. Meetings will be held at members' convenience. The financial report for 1971 was presented and accepted and copies sent to the Grants' Department, Provincial Director Library Services, and Northwester Ontario Lobrary System They were audit ed by W.T. Wallace and found in order. Thirteen meetings were held by the board last year The library has a circulation of 40,400; registered NOTICE Special in permanents, $15.00. The board's policy is to provide not only education but entertainment forall ages - the very young, the juvenile, teenage, and adutt. The board is particul- arly concerned with providing reading material for the senior citizens who have through many years supported the library by both thxes and interest = Schreiber hav- ing an unprecedented number of people who have chosen to remain in the town after retirement. A motion of appreciation was made to Mrs. McGrath for building up the Fine Arts section, with some material still on order. The board is grateful too to the Sault Ste Marie public library, who in response to a request, offered valuable advice on the selection of material for the art section. SCHREIBER W.lI. The Schreiber Women's Institute held their annual meeting with 14 mémbers present and Mrs. John Morris presiding. The roll call was answered by paying dues and donating to the Cancer Cupboard. The motto was "Take time for patients, for under- standin, time to remember thoughtful deeds to do". Mrs. Fred Harness, presented the annual financial reports saying the books had been audited and found correct. Letters were read from Mrs. O Grann of Pass Lake, concerning the District Board meeting in Thunder Bay, and from Mrs, Enders of Kakabeka Falls conatining suggestions for celebrations during the coming year. Two members volunteered to attend the Annual W.I. Ral ly in Thunder Bay, October 19. Several also stated they would attend the District Annual meeting being held in Nipigon on May 17th. Mrs. Ken Williamson, card secretary, reported sen- ding to Mrs. Victoria Winters, long time member hol- idaying in Florida, and also, 36 cards, and flowers to sick members, during the past year. The annual tea was planned for May 6, in the town Hall, from 3 - 5:30 witheach member asked to donate a desert. A door and draw prize will be added attrac- tions. (continued on page 12) SS
