FEBRUARY 24, 1972 TERRACE BAY PAGE 7 (Bowling Association continued) Paul Busso, so far, holds the high individual average of 228, with K. Furyk, a steady 189 for the Ladies section of the Mix- ed section. The Ladies Afternoon League is no exception to the high scores rolled lately. The high game this week, 256, belongs to Chris Dunham. Ev. Boutilier seems to have had an exceptional night. She took the high triple, 728, for the night and holds it for the year up to this point. Ev. also holds the high individual aver- age of 200. The Ladies Evening League can't be forgotten either because the ladies produced some scores you wouldn't bleieve. The high score for that week was hit by Peggy Regis and a 327 at that! Adeline Daley received the high triple that evening with scores of 231, 235 and a heartbreaker 299 to give her 765 total. Not to be left out is Dot Coupal, who holds the individual average of 210. | would like to mention the 300 games so far: Tony Costa - 317, 335 Paul Busso = 312 Don Burton - 311 Sheila Dakin - 306 Barb Mendelin - 300 Peggy Regis - 327 Congratulations! The events of the day will involve all three schools and the community in cor- relation to the theme of Education Week (March 5 = 11) entiltled "Community Grows Through Educ- ation". SNOWMOBILE CLINIC The Ontario Provincial Police, Schreiber Detach- ment, have arranged a Snowmobile Clinic to be held on Saturday, February 26, 1972 at the Lake Superior High School, Schreiber Campus. Time 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. On Friday, February 25, 1972, a special clinic will be held for students only. PLAN TO ATTEND. CONSERVATIVE MEETING F.V. Harness, of Schreiber, was returned as pres- ident by a unanimous vote at the annual meeting of the Progressive Conservative Association, Thunder Bay riding, held in Nipigon, February 20. Other officers elected were: Joe Morgan, Terrace Bay, Secretary Treasurer; Hilda Holm, Geraldton, First Vice President; Don Smith, Nipigon, Second Vice President; George O'Niel , Third Vice President; Heather Nelson, Jellicoe, Fourth Vice President; Stew Bridges, Geraldton, Honorary President. Forty attended the meeting with Toi Seppala pre- siding for the election. SCHREIBER CURLING CLUB NEWS The Schreiber Curling Club has held two. successful bonspiels in the past weeks. The family bonspiel with seventeen rinks entered was held Feb. 4,5, & éth and won by the Birch family consisting of Brian (father), skip, Geof (cousin) third, Edie (sister) second, and Ruth-Ann (aunt) lead. They won the family tree trophy made and donated by lan Macadam. Second in the first event went to the Dooley clan with Helen Dooley skip, Frank Walker third, Mavis Slater second, and Myrna McCuaig lead. This rink was all distantly related somehow. The B event went to the Cocks family of Edna, Bill, Cathy and Kenny; and runners-up was the Dukes family of June, Clover, Jade and Victor. On Feb. 18,19, & 20th, sixteen rinks entered the Challenge Bonspiel . This "spiel was open to any club organization, family or firm. Many rinks such as the Proghy House, The Best of Kimberly Clark, Board of Education, O.P.P., etc., all entered in this fun spiel . Emerging victorious was the Kinsmen Club with Mike Cosgrove skip, Bob Turner third, Ray Cook second, Walt Klassen lead. Second was the Proghy House with John Wiznuc (continued page 10)
