WE'RE NOT OUT TO MAKE MONEY} These words were spoken by Chairman of the Terrace Bay Winter Carnival Committee Don Laporte, at the last meeting. In these times, a statement like that is unusual, and how can you run a carnival without funds? Exploring his remark, Don said that a carnivel can't be run without money so of necessity some events will have a price teg, but they will be minimal - break-even prices - no profit. The committee hopes to present winter events for four days February 10th-ITth-I2th-I3th, designed to appeal to everyone in the district. Working on the committee as Vice Chairman are Jerry Dupas and representatives of various or- ganizations in Terrace Bay: the Ski Club, the Royal Cenadian Legion, the Student Council of Terrace Bay Campus, -the Mun- jcipal Council, etc., etce ecco all voluntarily. Letters have been sent to businesses and organizations asking for their help "financially, donations or involvement Tt is hoped that replies will be received at an early date so that the committee can correlate the many events schedu- led early in January. To date, three dances have been planned and orchestras hired. This is a good example of minimum charges. Orches- tras must be paid but admission to the dances will be set low - just to cover expenses, continued next column ceeee EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION FOR PAREN 5 The Lake Superior Board of Education announces a two-part course on Early Childhood Education for Parents of present or prospective Kindergarten and Primary pupils of its educational system.
