The last two meetings were presided over by the Presi- dent, Dale Boutilier. The treasurer's report showed a slight profit from the Halloween dance. A Christmas dance committee was formed, and it was decided that a contract should be signed for all bands that are hired. Nominations were held for the post of Social Convener, and Joyce Cluett was awarded the post by acclamation. The suggestion that the Athletic Association elect a member to attend the Super Council meetings on a regular basis as an observer met with approval. This should enable the Association to keep informed on Student Council activities through this represen= tative. It was also decided that each Campus should hold its own Winter Carnival. It was decided at this time to refuse the request from the amalgamated Year Book Society to assist them with financial aid. It was also decided to seek further information regarding a letter received by the Council concerning "Student War against Yaws" | Alpha conference on drugs and alcohol education which is being held in Niagara Falls. The council decided not to send a representative. The President informed the Council about the Toc | : THE STUDENTS' CHOICE The name that the students have given top place to for our amalgamated school is "North Shore Colle- giate"; the most popular colours are black and gold, and the name selected for the school column in the Terrace Bay News is the "North Shore Roar". The proposed name, "North Shore Collegiate" will be submitted to the School Board for their consideration. The new name, of course, will not be official until it has been approved by the Ontario Department of Education. On Thursday and Friday the initiates will have to recite their poem. To close the activities, on Friday the initiates will come to school dressed in their assigned cos- tumes. A slave parade will be held in the gymnasium, and the costumes will be judged as to the best-liked ones. Kangaroo Court will also take place, and the initiates will then be punished. 1971-1972 GOLDEN HAWKS The members of the Golden Hawks Senior Boys" Basketball team were recently selected, and are as follows: Ralph Coe, Jim Corrigan, Tony Commisso, Frank Figliomeni, Roy Huard, Bill Smilsky, Marc Tremblay, Ken Turner and Jim Collinson.
