Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Lidkea visited last week in Timmons with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Lafrance, bringing home with them their grandchildren Dale Wood and Susanne Lafrance. * Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Spadoni will hold a reception on August 21st in the town hall in honor of their daughter Cora, whose marriage to Lawrence Dun- woody takes place that day. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Small spent their vacation driving and visiting various friends in Southern Ontario. Miss Estelle Chicoine, bride-elect of this month, was honored by friends at a shower tea held in the Anglican Church hall on August 11th. Receiving with here was her mother, Mrs. Sandford Chicoine, her fiance's mother, Mrs. Ralph Morrill and her _ sister, Miss Susanne Chicoine. Mrs. Con Duggan was dining room hostess and servitors were the Missess Edie Relph, Karen Lidkea, Angie Dranchuk, Rosemary McParland, Peggy Fournier and Diane Singleton. Pourers were Mesdames Ambrose McGrath, Ray Sisson, John Power and Armella Comeau. Replenishing were Mesdames Martyn Ryan, Karl Redins, Lloyd Small, Hal Frommann and Jack Anderson. Tina Redins attended the guest book and the gifts were opened by Jackie Zborowski and Mrs. Vic Costa. Miss Colleen Cosgrove bride-elect of this month, was honored by her friends at a shower tea held in the United Church hall on August 8th. Receiving with her was her mother, Mrs. Austin Cosgrove, her fiance's mother and sister, Mrs. G .R. Gauthier and Miss Monica Gauthier. Pourers were Mrs. Albert Gauthier, Mrs. Albert Verdoni, Mrs. J.P. Gauthier and Mrs. Michael Cosgrove Serving were the Missess Beth Ross, Aileen Ross, Shirley Winters, Norma Walker, Roberta Milani, Brenda Cebrario, Cathy Riley and Marilyn Cook. Replenishing were Mesdames George Walsh, Ar- thur Moorey, Con Duggan, Jack Anderson and Terry O'Driscoll. Mrs. Martyn Ryan was table hostess. Nancy Spillane and Barbara Stefurak opened the gifts and Mary Jo Ryan attended the guest book. 4 LEGION FIELD DAY All children six and under who ran were given a prize of money at the Legion Field Day. Managing the events were Ken Davis, Bob Hiller, Larry Davis, and Wilf McLaughlin. Other winners were - eight and under boys - Mario Veneziano, Larry Ross, Donny O'Driscoll girls = Mary Stortini, Tanya Prebeyschewski (Wind- sor), Karen Krause. Nine and under boys = Pat Boon (Thunder Bay), Tom Lawson, Mark Mitts (Burnaby B.C .); Girls = Marina Moore, Virginia Stortini, Cathy Doig. . Ten and under boys - Lawrence McParland, Gary Tra- pp, Bill Campbell; girls = Lee Courtney, Cathy Willan, Ross Kushnieryk. Eleven and under boys - Rainer James, Tom Ray, Joey Campbell, Girls - Barbara Glad, Barbara Huard, Darlene Regis (Terrace Bay. Twelve and under boys - Rainer James, Tom Ray, Shane Riley, girls = Wendy Jones, Barbara Huard, Anne Stokes. Thirteen and under boys - Rainer James, Tom Ray, Shane Riley, girls = Debby Jones, Bryer McKenzie, Arlene Krause. Men's open - Keith Scott, Steven Ross, Rainer James Girl's open - Pam Nesbitt, Bryer icKenzie, Debbie Jones. Mr. and Mrs. P.G. Tegler, visitors from the Netherlands, and Mrs. Albert Verdoni were judges for the children's costumes in the parade. E.C. Prin- selaar was the marshal and free treats and balloons were given out. Prize winners were for: - Decorated doll's pram - Velvet Moore and Melanie Perras. Trikes = Linda Williamson, Garnet Nesbitt. Girls fancy dress - Debby Birch, Kelly O'Driscoll, Brenda Speziale. Boys Fancy = Danny Drause, Donny O'Driscoll. Boys Comic = Marina and Sammy Moore. Girls Comic - Anita Power and Colleen McParland, Wendy and Steven Lamoureau. : Original - Heather Brown and Arlene in clever two some as Anne Boleyn 'with 'er 'head tucked underneath her arm"! 2nd - Moira Brown, 3rd - Lori Drake and Darlene Parent. The big draw prize for the day was won by Mrs. Joe Kelly of Oshawa.
