An approval was given to the 1971 Budget as pre~ sented by the Budget Committee; in the amounts of $1,189,902.00 for Elementary purposes and $1,740,535.00 for Secondary purposes. Speakers presented written and oral briefs on be- half of the Manitouwadge and Marathon High School staffs requesting that further consideration be made of the proposal to drop the position of Vice=Principal in those schools. The Alexander and Stevens Avenue Public Schools at Marathon will be combined under one Principal effective September 1, 1971, A resolution that the Supervising Principal assume the responsibility of Principal effective September 1, 1971 was tabled. The Board will support the stand taken by O.T.F. opposing the inclusion of teachers in the Unemploy- ment Insurance Plan ard will notify Labour Minister Bryce Mackasey and their local Member of Parlia- ment accordingly.
