Wills received a complaint regarding family problems and this was dealt with between the parties concerned without charges being laid. On the traffic scene, there were no scoidents reported during the past week, It is gratifying to see that the motoring public are adjusting their driving to suit the weather and road conditions in this ares and are to be con~- gratulated, The number of break end enters that have been occuring of late are reason for concern for all of us, the public and police alike. Your police force can only be efficient with the help of the public. If anyone has any information that will help to conclude an investigation, no matter how un- important it may seem to you, it may be all that is required to conclude the case. All information will be treated con- fidentially, Motorists are reminded again, that studded tires are to be removed after April '30th, 1971. ZONE A - SPRING CONFERENCE The Ontario Municipal Recreation Association Spring Conference will be held in Schreiber on Friday and Saturday, April 16th=17th respectively. The Ontario Municipal Recreation Association is an association of lay people who are extremely con- cerned with the development of Recreation, both at the local and area level. The upcoming Spring confer . ence is open fo any person interested in Recreation, but especially Municipal Council members, Recreation Committee members and community group leaders and participants. MEN'S CURLING CLUB NEWS ANNUAL MEN'S BONSPIEL: = The 23rd Annual Bonspiel of the Terrace Bay Men's Curling Club was held held this past weekend, April 1-2-3-4. Curling began at 6:30 Thursday evening and continued to a very ex- citing conclusion late Sunday afternoon. Several local rinks made a good showing: Jack Chapman lost out to George Campbell (Thunder Bay) on the last rock in an exfra end in the "A" Event; Vic Fenton and Thor Olsen also battled to last rock in the "B" Event with Fenton winning; Dick Baron's "teacher" rink was defeated by George Podnar (Thunder Bay) in the "C" Event. At the banquet Saturday evening the "Uncle Suio Memorial Award" was given for the first time. This award has been donated by Crown Life in memory of Wes Cousineau (alias "Sulo Maki"Wwho, until his death last year, was a mainstay of the Terrace Bay Bonspiel. The participant judged to be the best "bonspieler" was "Smokey" Doug Baxter, lead on the Nalezyty rink from Thunder Bay, and Doug was presented with the "Uncle Sulo" Award for this year. | Also at the banquet, an honorary membership in the Terrace Bay Men's Curling Club was presented fo George Charlebois from Thunder Bay in recognition of his long-standing support of the Men's Bonspiel .
