SCHREIBER BOYS TRAVEL TO THUNDER BAY The Schreiber Boys' Basketball Team travelled to Thunder Bay this past weekend to compete in the N.W.O.S.S.A. basketball tournament. They were defeated = continued next column ... in their games against Churchill, Cort Frances and Prince Arthur Collegiate Institute, but represented themselves well both on and off the basketball court. Congratulations are extended to the coach and * team for their excellent efforts. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jartus and Terry were in Thunder Bay last week to attend the funeral of Mrs. Jartus!'mother. They were accompanied by Mrs. Nick Pelto and Mrs. Robert Winters. ROSSPORT TOWN TOPICS Ronald Lanigan has returned from a holiday with relatives in Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Todesco were Thunder Bay visitors last week. Clem Downey has returned from a holiday sper in the United States. Alex Zwaresh is planning on leaving shortly for a holiday in Toronto and New York with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Zwaresh. Anna Bain is a patient in the McCausland Hospital . Mrs. Mary Mushqush is visiting relatives in Geraldton. ; Mr. and Mrs. Schelling have returned from a trip to Thunder Bay. Mrs. C.W. Todesco is a patient in the Thunder Bay General Hospital. BINGO TO BE HELD BY CURLING CLUB The Curling Club Entertainment Committee held a meeting Monday evening to make plans for a bingo to be held in the near future. Arrangements were made to obtain prizes for same by contributions, in order to cut the overhead expenses. Misses Joyce Mushqush and Maxine Hubelit are in charge of the prizes. RECREATION CENTRE TO OPEN LIBRARY At the last meeting of the School Recreation Centre Committee, chaired by Clem Downey, they decided to open the Library section each Wednesday and Sun- day from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. They have 200 books available for adults with a good selection of fiction and non-fiction. There are 300 books available for the youth and children. The Committee members have decided to hold a "Story-Time" for pre-school children including pupils up to grade three = continued on page 20 .....
