FEBRUARY 11, 1971 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 19 WEEKLY REPORT FROM THE SCHRETBER DETACHMENT 0F THE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE During the past week three reported thefts were inveati- gated by members of the Schreiber Detachment with one theft being unfounded. On February 1, 1971 Constable S.R. Jones investigated a theft at the residence of Dr. T, Wykes. The item stolen was » $150.00 dinner ring. On February 5, 1971 Constable J.C. Bosley investigated a theft from the Walter Murphy residence in Schreiber. This residence was entered and a carton of cigarettes was removed. Prior to the reporting of this theft, Mrs. Eva Gordon had turned into this office 8 peckages of the same brand of ciga- rettes which she had found on her door step. In view of the sbove two thefts all Schreiber residents are requested to lock their doors when leaving their residence unattended, All motorists are to be commended as no collisions were reported during the past week. There still seems to be some confusion regarding the laws covering motorized snow vehicles, Under the Highway Traffic Act a snow vehicle does not fall within the meaning of a vehicle, however, under the Criminal Code of Canada it does. This means that all driving offences under the Criminal Code such as impaired driving can be applied to a snow vehisle. While on this subject es a point of interest to all the fatal snow vehicls collisions over the past twe winters in 50% of the oases the driver was either impaired or had been drinking. gy The Angel's Harp NES Pictured here are & group of grade seven girls drama- tizing a scene from a play called "The Man Who Never Was" From left to right are: - Norah Me- Guire, Tina Cebrario, Kelly McParland, Beverly Duffy and laura Carmichael.
