PAGE 8 TERRACE BAY NEWS FEBRUARY 4, 19/1 PROGRESSIVE CONSERVATIVES MEET THURSDAY All supporters of the Progressive Conservative party are invited to attend a meeting to be held in the small meeting room of the Recreation Centre on Thursday, February 4th at 7:30 p.m. One of the items on the meeting agenda is choosing delegates to attend the district meeting which is scheduled for the last week in February in Nipigon. Plan to attend the local association meeting = Thurs- day, February 4th at 7:30 p.m. = Recreation Centre - small meeting room. LEGION SPONSOR CURLING PLAYDOWNS Curling Playdowns for Zone 82, of the Royal Canadian Legion took place recently between Mara- thon, Manitouwadge and Terrace Bay Branch 223, at the local curling club. Terrace Bay won out over Marathon. If was inter- esting to note that Marathon had one lady curler on their rink, a veteran who had every right fo be there = Mrs. Edith Jordan. Others on the Marathon rink were Skip Hal Lawson, Second - Joe Kolatylo and Third = Don Graham. Lundberg NEW MINISTER INSTALLED AT COMMUNITY CHURCH A very impressive Installation Service was neld in the Terrace 'Bay Community Church, for the Reverend Peter McKague, on Thursday, January 26, at 8 p.m. continued next column Introduced by Chairman ot the Board, Peter Van- derkam, Rev. D.J. Firth, Moderator of the Superior Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, Thunder Bay S, presided. Mr. W.C. Hunter, of Thunder Bay read the Scripture. An excellent sermon was delivered by Reverend Roger Fornwalt, of Thunder Bay N. The Prayer of Installation was given by Reverend W. Macodrum, of Geraldton. Rev. J.C. Hood, Thunder Bay, gave the Charge and then called upon the newly installed Reverend McKague to pronounce the Benediction. The choir was in attendance, with Mrs. Ellen, Hodgkiss at the organ. Others who were called upon to extend the hand of friendship to Rev. McKague were, Rev. A. Chabot, Marathon; Rev. E. Prinselaar, Rev. R.L. Dye, Schreiber; Mr. Harcourt Johnson, Thunder Bay; Lay speaker in the Presbyterian Churcn during the past months, and on behalf of Father E.J. O'Flaherty of St. Martin's, who was unable to be present, Mr. W. Houston, Terrace Bay. The Congregation of the Community Church was joined by members of St. Martin's, including two Reverend sisters, showing the true Ecumanical spirit which exists between the two Churches. Also present were members ot St. Andrew's United Church, Schreiber. ; Following the installation service, the ladies served lunch in the Church Hall, at a Friendship Hour. Reeve W.E. Cavanaugh, on behalf of the town officially welcomed Rev. McKague, his wife and their three boys to our midst and expressed his hope that their stay would be a long and pleasant one.
