Vol. 12 No. 45 NEW MONEY ORDER SYSTEM Serving A new system of Money Orders announced by the Postmaster General will save time for both customer and Post Office at wickets as certain data is entered on form by imprinter rather than hand written and the customer may complete form with names of payee and remitter. The $91/4 million in Money Order fees represented about 2.8% of the Department's income for the year and was the largest item other than postage in Post Office receipts for the year. FUNDS APPROVED FOR MANITOUWADGE AIR- STRIP Jack Stokes, MPP (New Democrat - Thunder Bay) advises that Irwin Haskett, Minister of Transport, announced that application for financial. assistance to improve the Manitouwadge Airstrip as a public facility has been approved. The approval, in the amount of $6,000.00, is to cover the cost of regrading the present runway to achieve 2% longitudinal grade and to remove stumps from the shoulders as discussediwith the staff. In recognition of the community expenses this year on this strip, the province will accept all costs up to $6,000.00. Any future aggreements will be on the basis of 50/50 cost-sharing. HARD WORK ACHIEVES SUCCESS Hard work achieves success! This was the theme of the parent-teacher interview day held Monday, Nov. 10, at Schreiber High School . The effort that the great numbers of parents put forth in coming to the school during the afternoon and evening sessions displayed their keen interest in the success of their students. They found it ex- tremely beneficial to speak with the individual sub- ject teachers and obtain first hand knowledge of problems and achievements. The faculty feel the personal contact with the parents gives them a better understanding of the students and facilitates their function as educators in aiding the students to be successful .
