Township of Schreiber OFFICE OF CLERK-TREASURER NOTICE OF NOMINATION MEETING Pursuant to the provisions of by-law No. 486 and 503, notice is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Township of Schreiber that a meeting of the Electors will be held in the basement of the Town Hall in the Township of Schreiber at 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the afternoon of Monday, November 17th, 1969 next for the purpose of nominating fit and proper persons as candidates for the following offices 1. Reeve of the Township of Schreiber 2. Two councillors for the Municipal Council of the said Township. 3. One commissioner for the Hydro Electric Commiss ion of the said Township. Take notice that when a proposed candidate is not present at the nomination meeting, his nomination paper will not be valid unless there is attached there _ to evidence satisfactory to the returning officer that the proposed candidate consents to be nominated . The election, if necessary, will be held in the Town Hall of the Township of Schreiber on Monday, December Ist, 1969 between the hours of ten (10) a.m. and eight (8) p.m. of the same day and no longer. Advance poll for persons who are prepared to declare that they will be absent from the Township of Schreiber on the date set for holding the regular vote account of work or business to cast their ballot, will be held Thursday, November 27th., Friday November 28th., and on Saturday, November*29th., 1969 in the Town Hall of the said Township from nine (9) a.m. until five (5) p.m. of each day and no longer. TERRACE 8B SCHREIBER COUNCIL QUOTES PAGE 13 TOWN TOPICS The Schreiber District C .P.R. Employees Credit Union will hold its 19th annual meeting on November 21 at 7 p.m. in the town hall. Following the meet- ing there will be a social evening with dancing, refreshments and lunch. Registrations for the Schreiber Figure Skating Club will be accepted on Wednesday, November 5, in the arean, from 3.30 to 6p.m. Acclass for pre- school age boys and girls will be arranged if enough register in this age group. The Minor Hockey Association has arranged a Skate-a-thon for November 7th at 6 p.m. and will carry on until Saturday at midnight. Al] pro- ceeds will go to the hockey fund and they are now soliciting sponsors Reeve Fred Harness was appointed, at the regular October meeting of the municipal council, to ne- gotiate with C.P.R. in regard to purchasing the present town water system, and to bring a report to the November meeting. The C.P. and T. committee of the Rebekah Lodge was granted permission to have a candy blitz on | November 28th. Water works accounts of $268.86 and general accounts of $1897.08 were passed for payment. The by-law for the laying of water main to service Langworthy Street, Simon Street and an easement between Kingsway and Entel Street was given its third reading. Councillor J.S. Caccamo presented a request from the Snowmobile club to erect a replica of a snow- mobile on an approach to the town was asked to in- spect the proposed site. The position of ticket seller in the rink will be advertised. A wreath was ordered for Remembrance Day. St. Andrew's United Church official board sent a letter of appreciation for the use of the rink for their Fall Fair. Aurel Gauthier is presently employed as assistant clerk in the town office - Jack Gordon being on leave of absence.
