When the first actor bounded on stage and com- menced his dialogue one immediately got the im- pression that here was a young company very much "with it". As the minutes fled by, however, it became apparent that what was bei ng presented wasn't really so new or modern but much in the style presented by strolling players in centuries gone "The Theatre Hour Company is sponsored by the department of education through the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts. For two of the actors, Gregson Winkfield and John Evans, this is their second year on tour. Gregson Winkfield composed and arranged the music for this program. The new members this year were Gaston Blais, Angela Fusco, Don Le Gros and Carolyn Younger. Travelling with them is their company and stage manager, Tina Boden and assistant stage manager David Satterthwaite." Presentations like this are a wonderful opportunity ff | for students to see and enjoy live acting. It is an opportunity that many adults in the district would like to share. With this thought in mind we'd like to suggest that the Department of Education should make programs like this open to the public, espec- ially in places like our two towns where no Drama courses are held hence no workshops with visiting actors. These presentations would, of course have to be held in the evenings which br ings up the ques- tion, "Would the High School students turn out if these events were not held during school hours? " A lively question and answer period followed the program in each school . Some of the photos accompanying this article (next column ...) were taken in Schreiber High School and some in Terrace Bay High School KNITTING YARN - | PHENTEX Machine Washable Stain Resistant Non Fading Colors No Stretch or Shrink Keeps Shape Warmer than Wool BOC BALL Style 7/6953 - Elegant Pant Suit BAUER SKATES BOYS - MISSES - MEN'S - LADIES O ; TILL SATURDAY NOV. 1 110A ott - TERRACE BAY KOLESAR'S PHONE 825-3327
