Frank Anderson Chairman of the Recreation Committee advised Al Allen that he would replace Bill Farrell, who retired from the Council, as representative from Council. The Horticyltural Society requested that Council make a donation to their annual Flower Show to be held on August 23rd. Council will continue to present a Township Trophy and miniature as a prize. Applications for approval of O.W.R.C. for sewer and water extension on Lakeview Driver were sub- mitted. Reeve Cavanaugh sent a letter to Mayor Saul Laskin, expressing congratulations on his election' as Mayor of the new city of Thunder Bay. A reply from Mayor Laskin expressed appreciation of the entire Council for the good wishes extended from Terrace Bay and stated they hoped to work very closely with the neighbouring communities . Terrace Bay Town Council met in regular session with {Reeve Cavanaugh in the chair, and all four councillors present. Unfinished business included - The Township solicito presented preparations of recommendations for control of motorcycles and snowmobiles. Two bids were re- ceived for the Wajax Fire pump. The bid from Cy Brassard was accepted. A letter from R. Gerlach wrote re position of Hydro lines at the rear of pro- posed building lots. A request was received from the Lake Superior Divi- sional School Board for portion of 1969 requirements payable by Terrace Bay. The Department of Family and Social Services ad- vised that the 1969 budget for Thunder Bay District was approved. A request from the Boy Scouts of Civics to carry on with the annual apple sale,in former years taken on by the Kiwanis Club,was granted.
