JOHN BERCHMAN'S CHURCH Mass every Monday at 7 Pele The Afternoon Group of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Community Church met in the Church hall on Jan- vary 20th for a Pot Luck Luncheon, featuring a great variety of delicious dishes. Grace was said by Mrs. T. Dorland. Rev. Husser was a special guest, and two new members were welcomed. Mrs. J. Schritt chaired the meeting in the absence of Mrs. McCausland, who was ill. Annual reports were given by the Secretary-Treasurer Mrs. R. Harris Mrs. Sarah Jones, who was celebrating her 86th birthday, was unable to be present, and was sent a plant by the ladies, in honor of her birthday. Mrs. Jones sends out an urgent appeal for used stamps, because her supply is running low. These stamps are used to raise money to help a Leper colony. Election of officers took place, with the follow- ing results: Chairman - Mrs. Chadwell; Vice- Chairman - Mrs. Schritt; Secretary-Treasurer - Mrs. R. Harris; Members donated $1 to be used for a worthy cause The next meeting will find the ladies counting Canada Packer Labels. An auto accident claimed the life of Myrna (Crandlemire's) husband, Douglas Rice, aged 29. Our deepest sympathy goes to the bereaved. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Macadam of Schreiber, are happy to announce the arrival of their first grand- child, Albert "Ritchie", born January 19th, 1969; 8 pounds, 3 oz., a son for Mr. and Mrs. A.R. Dejeet (nee Sharon Macadam) born at Kitchener, Waterloo General Hospital, Waterloo, Ontario.
