LADIES GOLF NEWS Congratulations to Peggy Wellings who captured the Joe Adamo Championship Trophy in the I8- hole tournament on Saturday. Detachment have had a busy session, in addition to their regular duties carrying out investigations regarding an alleged plane crash near the mouth of the Steel River, a shooting at Cavers, and the death of an unidentified man found on the C.P.R. tracks at Cavers. In traffic they had two property damage accidents, resulting in $1625. damage with injuries sustained in one. Two charges were laid under the O.H.T.A. fourteen motorists warned regarding infractions and vehicles defects, and twenty-eight vehicles given safety checks. Two break and enter charges and four other cases were investigated. This report is for July 9 to 15 with 3251 miles of roads patrolled and 20] duty hours served. nine holes in dense fog, Peggy turned in a score of 54 which placed about fifth. In spite of this dis- advantage Peggy completed her second round in fine style reducing her score by ten strokes , emerging with a 44 score thought to be a record for ladies on our course. Marie Edmunds followed close with a gross of 101 and Liz Burns had a beautiful 73 net. Low holes were won by Jan Hall and Ivy Pattison and High Holes went to Barbara Wise and Aina Adamo. The weiner roast after last Thursday's 2-ball was a lot of fun and some of us missed a real good time. Winners in ladies day July 18 were: Low Gross - Lois Shubaly, Low Net - Ivy Pattison, Hidden Hole- Marie Edmunds and Louise Karns. July 16-22 report - Total Duty Hours 248, roads patrolled 3687 miles. Traffic - three charges laid under O.H.T.A. Twelve warnings.were issued to motorists regarding infractions and vehicle defects.
