This condition is known to be particularly preval- ent in the Great Lakes and Gulf of Mexico areas because of a fast change in temperatures around these two bodies of water and because of the pec- uliar reflecting qualities of large bodies of water. The condition described usually takes place at two particular periods of the year, the first being centered around the 15th of June, and the other around September, 15 with a possible few short periods at other times of the year. And usually abate as the weather conditions settle down.
