"That the week of July Ist - 7th be, and the same is hereby fixed as "Centennial Dress Week" during our Centennial Year 1967, and that the Reeve be requested to publish the usual proclamation for this purpose." In compliance with the foregoing resolution, | do hereby proclaim the week of July Ist to 7th, as CENTENNIAL DRESS WEEK, for the y ear 1967, within the Township of Terrace Bay, to which all persons are hereby requested to take notice and to support this observance accordingly. During this time, the Lake Superior Pumphouse will be shut down periodically. There will be no interruption of the town water supply, as the Town will be supplied by the emer- gency pumphouse at Hayes Lake. Wherever you go XK drive safely..... ™ Serving The District TERRACE BAY NEWS June 29, 1967 HIGHSCHOOL EXPANSION APPROVED Approval for the expansion of the Terrace Bay High School has been received from the Department of Education and construction will be underway be- fore the Fall, thereby assuring use for September, 1968. The new facilities include six classrooms, four shops and a new library. Modifications to the exis- ting building will provide a Guidance Room and expanded office area. Two new educational programs will be established: four year Science, Technology and Trades, and oc- cupations for boys and girls. The present five year Arts and Sciences up to Grade 12 will continue. As a result of our expansion, and through the working agreement with Schreiber, the opportunities for Terrace Bay students in the secondary schools will be vastly improved. KIMBERLY-CLARK UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP Qualified students who are bona fide residents of Terrace Bay or who are dependents of Kimberly- Clark employees living outside of Terrace Bay are reminded that they may apply for the $2,000.00 Scholarship awarded annually by the Company. To be considered a candidate for the Scholarship, a student must have obtained an average of at least 73% in the Grade 13 examinations conducted by the Department of Education of Ontario. Applica- tions in writing must be made to the Mill Manager SRS within one week of the publication of the re- sults of these examinations. 4 For full details contact the Industrial Rela- tions Department at the Mill.
