May Il, 1967 TERRACE BAY NEWS Page 7 HOCKEY BANQUET (Continued from page 1) Ken Turner Jr., proposed a toast to the Fathers and an apt response was made by Ken Turner, Sr. Association president Lester Legault introduced his executive, Jerry Papousek, Frank Sechesky and Mrs.O.Papineau, also Gordon Calder, Ben Hayes Tom Pollard, Bob Adamo, Stan Zwaresh and thanked all who coached or helped in any way to make the season so successful. He congratulated the Midgets and Allstars-and commended those who turned out faithfully all year. Recreation Committee Chairman Ken McLeod greeted the future N.H.L'rs and introduced Rec. Director Dave Courtemanche. The latter mentioned his keen interest in hockey and outlined his plans to introduce Lacrosse, beginning at the playground level. He hopes this sport will prove popular and that house leagues may be formed. Other plans in- clude Field Hockey for girls--soccer in the Arena-- Physical Fitness and Fastball. He concluded with tam. In choosing the recipients of any trophy, schol- astic record and ability to co-operate are factors. * Ben Hayes made the presentation to Ken Turner of the Atoms--Lloyd Paulsen gave the trophy and crest to Bevan Schritt of the PeeWees and Tom Pollard did the honours for Charlie Simmer of the Bantams. President Legault pointed out that one of the names on the next award "The Cowboy Young Trophy" was that of Ron Schock who is now a major league player. He said that all who worked with Ron in his hockey days here remember him as always asking questions, that he was eager to learn, that he lived a clean life and that he had the desire to be a good hockey player Hugh (Scotty) Hamilton presented this trophy to his son Rick--captain of the Mustang PeeWee team.
