- 'lt THE SCHREIBER NEWS December 2 COURT OF REVISION HELD HERE Court of Revision was held on November 24 with Reeve F.V.Harness presiding and full council acting. Ten appeals were presented with the following re- sults:- Martyn Ryan and Schreiber Hotel appeals deferred for further consideration: appeals from San- ford Chicoine and W.Alcorn were denied, under the act: a rebate was granted to F.Eickmeier re vacant lot: Mrs.A.Valentino's request and that of Keith Scott were denied as out of order. An appeal by Otto Strasser was also deferred for further considera- tion. CREDIT UNION HOLDS 15TH ANNUAL MEETING The Schreiber CPR Creat Union held its [5th annual meeting on November 26 with W.E.Collinson chair- ing the meeting. The Board recommended that 4% interest be paid on membership shares, plus an addi- tional one half percent bonus. There will also be a 15% rebate on interest paid by borrowers in good standing. There are now 231 members in the Credit Union here. F .V .Harness presided for the election of the fol- lowing officers:- Wayne Wilson and J.E.Stokes, with A.S.Slater and K.V.Godin returned. Others on this board are Gerald Nicol, R.W.Turner, George Gordon, Mrs.Inez McKevitt, W.E.Collinson, Hob- den Spikula and W.G.Furlonger. L.R.Tremblay, Lloyd Small and Cyril Sparkes were returned to the supervisory committee. Following the business meeting there was a cabaret party with H.W.Gellert playing for the dances. The draw prizes for the evening were won by Mrs. W.E. Collinson and R.W.Turner. A cold plate lunch ended the evening, well atten- ded despite the blizzard raging. POTATO CHIP BLITZ PLANNED BY LIONS CLUB The Schreiber Lions Club will be canvassing the town with the sale of Potato Chips which will come in handy for your Christmas entertaining. Photo by Inez McCuaig CITIZENSHIP COURT HELD HERE His Honor, Judge E.H.Reed of Fort William was . in Schreiber on November 20 to confer Canadian citizenship on Mr.and Mrs.Nick Racioppe, Mrs. Pau | Bruso, Mr.and Mrs.Vincenzo Delio, Mr.and Mrs. Dominic Commiso, Carl Muia, Guiseppi Difruscola, Dominic Pasqualino, Antonio. Pasqualino, Maria Pas- qualino, Mrs.Pellagrino, Cosimo, Paul and Dominic Pellagrino. Assisting Judge Reed were Mr.and Mrs. Walter Matyszuk of Fort William. In his address to the new citizens Judge Reed com- pared the ceremony to that of marriage where one leaves one's old home for a new, with love and loyal ty to both. The judge thanked OPP Constables Stewart Jones and Cecil Duffy whose presence lent dignity to the ceremony.
