LS FRIENDS BID BON VOYAGE TO MacLEODS Kay and Ken MacLeod (of Hydro employ eparted for Hunstville, Ontario last weekend where Ken has now been transferred to Sales Promotion. They were accompanied by their daughter Mary Pat and another daughter Nadine will join her family before the Christmas vacation. To bid farewell after so many years in Terrace Bay many friends joined to express their best wishes in the move. A weiner roast was held at Dr.McCaus- land's lakeshore can p when those attending presen- ted Kay with a travelling bag and Ken with a gift of pipes. A Hydro party was held last weekend, start- ing out with bowling in Terrace Bay to continue with a social evening in the Schreiber Curling Lounge. Ken's co-workers presented them with an electric blanket and bon voyage wishes. The Hockey Association and the Recreation Com- mittee each pre sented Ken with a plaque in appre~ ciation of his long years of conscientious work on their behalf. Marie Edmunds was hostess at an evening of bridge when Kay's Bridge Clubs joined to present her with a parting gift of lovely linens. Emily Lohr enter- tained at a Coffee Party with neighbors presenting Kay with a piece of Blue Mountain Pottery. A pyjama party was held for Nadine at the home of Sheila Chard when her girl friends gave her a brooch and on another occasion her highschool class- mates gathered to present her with a pen and ookpik. Mary Pat was entertained by her grade seven class- mates in St.Martin's separate school last week, re- ceiving a lovely sweater with their parting wishes. Rev.T.G.Husser will give the Christmas talk as the Afternoon and Evening branches of the Ladies Auxil- jary join in the Terrace Bay Community Church for their Christmas party, Monday, December 6th at 8.15 P.M. The men's Chorus will also be featured guests of the evening and all husbands and newcomers with their husbands are cordially invited. CURLING 'NEWS A 'test-run mixed curling social Saturday evening proved that there is enough interest in mixed curling | to warrant scheduling such affairs at regular intervals The ice was filled to capacity and a good crowd staye ed to enjoy dancing and Dene Clancy's hot dogs and coffee. Coming Events December lith is Challenge Day - All the adults in fown are invited to make up teams and challenge' their friends. The cost to non-members if $1.00 per game. No doubt this day will see another chapter in the perpetual Engineering Office vs Technical- Admin.fued. Just sign up on the draw sheet at the rink. December I8th is the Christmas Party and everybody 'goes to the Christmas Party. December 3lst is the New Year's Eve and, as usual, a gala party will be held to bring in the new year.
