Mc vember Ie 1965 COMMENCEMENT (Continued from page 12) Mr. John Ferrier, Mill Manager at Kimberly- Clark's Terrace Bay Mill brought congratulations as he awarded the Kimberly-Clark Scholarship to Diane Paulsen who attained 73% in nine Grade 13 subjects. Mr.Lloyd Paulsen accepted the scholarship on behalf of his daughter . Mr. G.R.Hodgson, Registrar from the Ontario Vocational Centre in Sault Ste.Marie was the guest speaker on the program. He urged all to hang their star or to keep their vision on a Grade 13 Graduation. However, for those who were brilliant or more able in other than the academic field, he offered the training of their skills in such as the new Vocational Centre located in Sault Ste. Marie. There was a great need for skilled techni- cians today and he outlined the four year program offered. Mr.Rowsome who had introduced Mr. Hodgson, thanked him for his encouragement. Letters of congratulations were presented to those who had successfully achieved their Grade 10 standing. These went to Margot Anderson, Lita Boudreau, Michael Brend, Diane Campbell, Richard Dorman, Carole Gaudet, Linda Hales, Molly Harris, Peter Heenan, Francis Helmink, Keith Koski, Suzanne Lemay, Karin Lundberg, James Mikus, Michael Moore, Errol Morres, Mar- guerite Mousseau, Evelyn Rajotte, Jorg Schmied- chen, Patricia Simmer, Deborah Stewart and Jane West. Mr.Farrell was assisted by Mr.MacLeod in these awards. Secondary School Graduation Diplomas went to the 1964-65 class, Annette Belliveau, Donna Brown, David Falzetta, Bonnie Hamilton, Brian Hubelit, John MacDonald, Carol MacLeod, David Mercier, Elaine Rajotte, Roger Rajotte, David Roberts:, William Shivas, Roderick Thompson, Allen Trudeau and Irene Uzicanin. Mr.Rowsome assisted Mr.Chisholm in this presentation. Roger Rajotte was chosen by his classmates to make the Valedictory Address and chose to empha- size the importance of each student's individual THE NEWS effort in the final outcome of the class. Jim Mikus, president of this year's Student Council brought congratulations and presented the Valedictorian with a gift. Concluding the program a reception was held in the School with parents of graduates and award win- ners invited with the students. Pouring tea were Mrs. A.N.Chisholm and Mrs .W.Farrell. The tea table was covered with an ecru lace cloth and cen- tered with a bouquet of white mums and green chenille, the school colors. Mrs.Lois Hopper and Mrs.Audrey Smith were assisted by students in re- plenishing. A dance was enjoyed by the students and guests to close a busy evening, with music by the Bee Jay Orchestra of Marathon.
