SHIRLEY HOLMES WEDS ROBERT DUNVILLE @ marriage of Shirley Adele Holmes, daughter of Mr.and Mrs.Charles Holmes of Schreiber and Robert Lorne Dunville, son of Mr.and Mrs. Wilfred Dunville of Red Rock was solemnized by Father J.M.Cano in Holy Angels Church on June 26. Miss Carole Lalonde was organist and Giovanni Cebrario the soloist. The b est man was Tom Nach- uch of Nipigon and ushers were Brian Deperio of Fort William and Harvey Dunville of Red Rock. The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a formal gown of nylon chiffon over bridal satin with basque bodice and slim skirt, the whole trimmed with Alencon lace. Hear headdress was pearlized spray of lily of the valley and forget-me- nots, holding four tiérs of scalloped silk illusion and she carried a crescent of pink roses. The maid of honor, Miss Sylvia Risks of Nipigon and the bridesmaids, Miss Carol Holmes of Port Arthur and Miss Muriel Holmes of Schreiber (sisters of the bride) wore identical frocks of mint green silk organza over taffeta in the empire A line mode. Their headdresses were matching green tulle veils caught in front by bows and they carried pink car- nation clusters ringed by shasta daisies. The wedding breakfast was in the Guild Hall and in the afternoon a reception was held in the town hall when the bride's mother received in a turquoise sheath topped with lace jacket, her hat and acces- sories in white and corsage of gold carnations. The groom's mother chose a wheat lace dress with three quarter length coat, her hat and accessories in pink and her corsage pink carnations. Miss Irene Spicer was hostess at the reception and tea was poured by Mrs.Adele Lavereau, the bride's grandmother, and Mrs.Hubert Weaver, Mrs. Mary Cavanaugh, the bride's aunt and Mrs.Anne Fubred, aunt of the groom. The servitors were the Misses !canne McCuaig, Bea McBride, Lynn Sharpe, Marilyn Pearson and Linda Depiere with Miss Heather Graham attending the gift table. The following relatives came to attend graduation exercises of St.Joseph's Hospital school of nursing in Port Arthur, in which Geraldine McGrath was a graduate--Mrs.& Mrs.J.Carty, Mr.& Mrs.C . Berre- gan, Ray and Steve Berrigan of Ottawa and Mr.& Mrs.M.McGrath of Eganville. The Ottawa party were guests of Mr.& Mrs.M.Perrault and Mr.& Mrs. McGrath the guests of Mr.and Mrs.A.McGrath. LUTHER LADIES (Continued( will be held at the Church from July 5th to 9th in- clusive, starting at 9 A.M. and ending at 4 P.M. with morning and afternoon sessions. This year there are a large number of children enrolled and the ladies are donating cookies and cool-aid. Any assistance from mothers in the supply of these items will be sincerely appreciated. The meeting adjourned and the ladies were served a delicious luncheon by the hostess. Mr.and Mrs.Irving Bailey and Mrs.David Burnside of Fort William visited friends and relatives' here over the weekend. BISHOP WRIGHT CONDUCTS CONFIRMATION ~The following were confirmed in St. John's Anglica Church, Schreiber, by the Most Rev. W.L.Wright, Archbishop of the Diocese of Algoma--Bruce Lesley Bottomley, Norman T.Bottomley, Raymond Olsen, Paul K.L.Evans-Smith, Keith R.Searles, George K. Searles, William E.Collinson, George R.Ellacott, Howard E.Solly, Kristine Olsen, Bonnie J.Robinson, Patricia S.Thorsteinson, Wendy E.Evans-Smith, Catherine L.West, Jane R.West, Mary C .Coupal, Paulette S.E.Coupal, Brenda J.Bailey and Christina M.Bottomley. Lorette Clare Solly was also accepted into membership of the Church. Rev.R.J.S.Inshaw, rector of St.John's presented the candidates to the Bishop. At the same service Archbishop Wright dedicated a processional Cross in memory of Thomas Bottomley, presented by his wife, also a silver bread box, in memory of the Rev.Harold McCausland, presented by Dr.J.M. and Mrs.McCausland of Terrace Bay. LUTHERAN WOMEN "S LEAGUE ELECTS OFFICERS On June 12th the members of the Schreiber Luther- an Women's League gathered at the home of Mrs.L. Schaan to hold their last meeting of the season and elect new officers. Elected for the coming term were Mrs .F .Eickmeier, president; Mrs.L.Schaan, vice- president and Christian Growth chairman; and Mrs. Donna Nygaard, secretary-treasurer . Opening devotions were conducted by Mrs.L. Schaan and Bible Study by Mrs.H.Josus. A list of articles needed to make up 'children's cleanliness kits' for the Lutheran World Relief organ- ization were distributed to the members so that work could be done to process these kits for kthe first meet ing of the fall. A discussion was held regarding the purchase of a 'book of the month! for the church library and a motion was passed to purchase a church guest book due to the fact that the worship services are held by many visiting pastors during summer and there are also a number of tourists attending.
