A nominating Committee was formed with committee members to meet April 26, Election of officers will take place at the Chapter Night, May 5. All members were asked to note this date and attend. Marg Duries stated that the Academy of Friendship group will not be going to Hibbing, Minnesota this year, but will attend next year's session. The meeting closed with lunch being served, Membership Chairman Doreen Durylo and her committee will be in charge of the Chapter Night program, May 5, SPRING MEETING HELD BY HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY President Garnet Valiquette welcomed the District .Director, Mr.Bob Bell of Port Arthur, to the general spring meeting held Friday evening in the Recreation Centre, of the Terrace Bay Horticultural Society. Mr.Bell was accompanied by Mr.Konrad, Koke, Nurseryman of Port Arthur, Walter Anderson, Junior Gardener Chairman stated he would contact the elementary school Principals to arrange distribution of seeds to the Junior gardeners. Garden Plot Chair- man, Henry Hermes, informed the members a new section of land was being opened up for them by the Company and many more gardening plots would be available this season. These would be allotted on a first come, first served basis to members, but must be applied for by May l. Membership Chairman John Polachuk is tak- ing orders for conmercial fertilizer which will be sold to members at cost. Replying to a query from the District Director, Ab Farrow said soil samples had been submitted for analysis and an average fertilizer was selected from the analysis report of require- ments, Ken Turner, for the Works Committee and Terry Dorland, for the Show Committee, ex- pected to get their members underway next month, John Steen had volunteered to visit the Red Rock Society on Sunday afternoon, taking along all details on the Annual Show, in order to assist in establishing their Show Committee. Arrangements were completed with Mr.Koke to bring a truck load of bedding plants into Terrace Bay on Thursday, June 10 for 10 A.M, and, if required, a second trip on the following Thursday.
