BOILER QUOTATIONS RECEIVED BY COUNCIL ouncillor N.J.Jolicoeur reported at the April council meeting on his study of traffic signs within the Town and it was decided to pass a by-law chang- ing some existing stop signs to 'yield' signs to ex- pedite traffic. an early return of the agreement sent to the town re- garding chlorinization plant. Quotations were received from Clow-Darling and Burton Plumbing on installation of new boiler in the 1 Town Hall and other plumbing in connection with | the change. These were left for the property com- mittee's consideration. A by-law was prepared requesting appointment of a district assessor . The clerk and one councillor were appointed to | attend the Thunder Bay Municipal League conven- tion. Another rebate was made to R.B.Smith for water rates paid in full for the year, shortly after which Mr .Smith moved to New Brunswick. Council urgently requests parents to keep strict watch over young children playing or wandering in the vicinity of the creek, now in Spring flood, or other points where water collects. SCHREIBER GIRLS WIN TROPHY IN SUDBURY St. John's Anglican Church is proud of the Girls Auxiliary members who attended the G.A.Festival in Sudbury during Easter week and brought home, for the first time, the Archbishop's Trophy. There were 170 girls from various auxiliaries in the Algoma Deanery so it was a well-earned win. The Schreiber members attending the fesitval won the First ribbon and small cup in the drama event - a second ribbon in choral speaking and a First ribbo for crafts and a third ribbon each (continued ....)
