by Inez McCuaig BROWNIE INITIATION The Brownie packs had a gala evening attended by a large crowd of guests, when new members Sysan McParland, Darlene Guillet, Alda Holland, Alma Cenerelli and Brenda Cebrario were initiated and Lola Scott, Cathy Stokes, Carolyn Glad and Cindy Einarson were presented with Golden Hands. In the pack's own elections the following were announced as sixers and seconders:- Pixies, Cathy Bottomley, Alanna Power - Leprechauns, Bonnie Wood, Carolyn Fadden - Fairies, Jewell Paradis, Betty Ann Huard - Sprites, Debby Jolicoeur, Karen Guina - Gnomes, Kathy Guina, Isley Crawley - Elves, Maureen Campbell, Janie Duggan - Imps Debby Caccamo, Susan Phillips. Proficiency b adges were presented to Carolyn Glad, thrift, collector, minstrel, house orderly - to Cathy Stokes, collector, house orderly. The leaders are Mrs. Bill Stefurak and Mrs.Giovan- ni Cebrario, Brown Owls, with Mrs.Ray Sisson, Mrs. Art Huard, Mrs.O.B.Fasan, Mrs.Harry Shack and Mrs.Ray Cote as assistants. The Brownies displayed several of their action games and other activities and at the close of the meeting the Golden Hands, with Susan Dimmery and Sheila McParland, assisted by Mrs.Lloyd Small, Con. Duggan and Burton Phillips, served lunch. UGANDA BISHOP VISITS SCHREIBER St.John's Anglican Church was honored by a visit from the Rt.Rev.Sabita, Bishop of the Church of God in Ruwenzori, Uganda, a delegate to the Anglican World Mission. Bishop Sabita's address was heard with interest by a full congregation of both members and visitors. The Rev. R.J.S.Inshaw, estoy, ead the Follower ntinue Canadian Girls in Training (CGIT) as part of their training program are encouraged to take an early interest in community affairs, welfare in particular. Here they place the appeal letters and Christmas Seals of the East Thunder Bay Tub erculosis Assoc. in envelopes ready for mailing. Photo by Ines McCuaig KINSMEN ANNOUNCE DRAW WINNER Rosa Speziale was the lucky winner of the Fuel Oil Draw sponsored by the Kinsmen Club recently. The winning ticket was pulled by Mr.O. Sainsbury of the Schreib er Hotel. LENORE O'BRIEN 'QUEEN' IN PAGEANT Lenore O'Brien was queen in the October pageant of the crowning of the blessed Virgin Mary, presen- ted by the Catholic Girls' Club in Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church. It being the Queen's privilege to choose her attendants, Lenore chose her sister Sharon as princess and sister Mary Lynn for Crown Bearer. Colleen Maclsaac was the other Princess. The event is directed by Rev. J.M.Cano and the Reverend Sisters. SUPERIOR DEANERY MEETS IN SCHREIBER The women's Auxiliary of St.John's Angl ican Church were hosts for the annual deanery meeting of the W.A.groups in the Superior district. (Cont'd)
