Paae 8 | HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS VISIT STRATFORD Wednesday, September 23rd, was the depar- ture date set by a group of twenty-six students and two teacher-chaperones who left for Toronto on the Canadian. Upon arrival in Toronto late the same day, the students went to the Westbury Hotel, which was our home for the next three days. After a quick change the the next stop was the OfKeefe Centre where we watched the French opera, "Carmen", Next morning it was up bright and early for us, and shortly after we boarded a chartered bus for Stratford. Upon arrival we were very cordially greeted by women of the Central United Church, who, after a tour of their lovely modern church, served us a very delicious home-cooked dinner. THE NEWS October 8, 1964 We left for the theatre where, after a short tour we took our seats, the best in the house, and watched the production of "King Lear". There would be no exaggeration in saying it was the highlight of the trip. The next day we were up and off again and our first stop was at the Par- liament buildings where we toured and were entertaine compliments of the Honour- able George Wardrope. Walking along, we viewed - -- the University of Toronto and many other points of interest, including the Royal Art Museum, In the afternoon we were graciously received at the Maclean- Hunter Publishing Company. Here we witnessed part of the production of the Chatelaine magazine and toured the Chatelaine kitchen. We also visited other departments such as data processing, art, and personnel, Our next event took us to the Hydro Building where we saw the operation of computer machines, The last event of the day was was the C.B.C. Tele- vision Studio four, and the popular western "Country Hoedown", On Saturday, our last day, we were able to spend our morning shopping and Saturday after- noon found us in the C.N.E. fair grounds where we saw permanent buildings and toured the Hockey Hall of Fame.
