BOARD ENTERTAINS PUBLIC SCHOOL STAFF The Public School Board entertained the school staff, the latter each bringing a friend, at dinner in St. John's Church, prior to the vacation period. Chairman W.G .Furlonger spoke briefly, expressing the Board's pleasure at having them all return to the school next year. Mr.W.S.Harris, secretary-treasurer and Mrs.Harris, were also present. Donna Slater and her cousin, Jean McGregor, of Mr.and Mrs.Arthur LeBlanc are visiting relations in Winnipeg. here over the weekend. Mr.and Mrs.L.Nesbitt and Jeff visited here enroute to Montreal and Eganville from Castlegar, B.C. Mrs .Lillian Christie, Peter Christie and Linda Han- del are holidaying in Ottawa and Toronto. Training course. Mrs.Mike Micus of White River and her family have been visiting Mr.and Mrs. Chas.Nesbitt. Monica Gauthier, Gerald McGrath and Marilyn Cook. Bill Stefurak was at Polly Lake for a Girl Guide NEWS Mr .and Mrs.E.Beaucage, Brian and Terry of Port Arthur, are visiting Mr.and Mrs.Walter Guillett. Mr.and Mrs.D.D'A mours have sold their home and will move to Thorold, Ont., where Mr.D'Amours will teach next year. Linda Donovan and Joanne Harris of Chapleau are visiting Sheila Weaver . Mr .and Mrs.lvan Martin had with them last week his mother, Mrs.Mable Martin of Ft.William and his sister, Mrs.Sheila Hephner and four daughters, of Chilton, Wisconsin. They came particularly to at- tend Claude Martin's graduation from the Separate School . Fred Crawley has returned from Toronto to do sum= mer relief work in the C PR yard. Jimmy-Kay Martinsen of Fort William visited his grandparents, Mr.and Mrs.Harry Martinsen. Wilson McLean of Pt.Arthur was a business visitor here last week. Mrs.Frank Korpela and daughter of Sudbury visited last week with the Pelto family and Mrs.John Parent. Tommy Bolan is recovering in Pt.Arthur General Hospital following an emergency operation. Relatives visiting in Jimmy Sawyer's home are Mr. & Mrs.Cecil Sawyer, brother and sister-in-law; Mr. & Mrs.Leonard Sawyer, a nephew, (all of North Bay) . Leonard and his bride are on their wedding trip. Francisco Macchi of Pt.Arthur is here to spend the summer with his grandparents, Mr.and Mrs. Frank Figliomeni. Vacationtime for the high school staff is planned as follows:- Mr.& Mrs.Fasan and family to Timmins, So .Porcupine (with their parents) and other points in southern Ontario; Miss Quinlan to Niagara and Toro- nto; J.Finnboggasin to Winnipeg and Toronto; Don White to Ottawa; Mr.Thomasing to Kitchener; Bill Woodrow to Ottawa for brief holiday after which he returns to summer in Schreiber. Wedding bells will ring for Don White and his fiancee, Miss Merba Robb and they will both teach in Ottawa next year. Miss Quinlan and Mr .Finnboggasin will also be married and will return to Schreiber.
