The Toast to the Queen was proposed. by Bri Bailey and Douglas Cuthbertson proposed a "Toast to the Dads, from all of us Lads." Mr. | A.L.Cuthbertson replied to this toast. Mr, Alfredo Spadoni, President of the Lion's | Club who sponsor the Groups, spoke briefly, Jack Handel, Chairman of the Group Committee was M,C, and introduced the guests, Guest speaker was Mr. R,Wills, District Commissioner and Member of National Training Board, from Terrace Bay. He was introduced by Mr.Spadoni and spoke on the history of Scouti from its beginning 50 years ago - its purpose and' aims. He cited prevalent problems facing todayts youth, stating that, although the scout movement is a good one, it needed the help and encouragement that can only be found in the home, the Church and local organizations. Presentation of prizes to boys who had earned them at the Spring Hobby Show was made by Mr. J,.B.Ridsdale. Following this Rev. R. Crook pronounced the Benediction and all en-, joyed films .on-handicraft, ending with the singing of God Save the Queen.
