This building will be on the west end of the present curling rink and will be 40 feet by 60 feet, It will be complete with men's and ladies* locker rooms and washroom facil- ities and there will be a fully equipped kitchen also, The Club room area will be large enough . for the Club to hold social functions and -bonspiels with adequate room for all. The footings' for this building-have been poured and work will progress as fast as possible so that the building will be com- pletely closed in for the curling season. When the 1961-62 curling season gets underway it is likely there will still be some in- terior work to do, The Terrace Bay Curling Club have under- taken this project with present funds and with help from the Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper Company Limited, Kimberly-Clark have agreed to initially finance most of the materials required for the building and the Club will repay Kimberly-Clark over a period of years, The Ladies? Curling Club have in- dicated they will assist in some way with this building. This building will be a definite asset to the community as a whole as well as to the Curling Clubs, It will be attached to the present Recreation building facilities and the Curling Club have agreed to turn it over to the Recreation Association for six months of the year, This will make available a large fully equipped lounge area for general use for at least six months of the year. In return the Recreation Association will pro- vide light, heat, ete., to the new building. A large factor in the actual building will be volunteer labour required from the Curling Club members and prospective mem- bers. Without volunteer labour it would not.be financially possible for the Club to undertake this project. Therefore, the Curling Club executive have set up six separate work crews composed of crew leaders and members or former mem- bers. formed, A building committee has also been This committee and the various crews are shown below:-.
